Major Russian Attacks Eliminate Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced problems to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has increased assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks come after periods of aerial attacks in the area, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
