Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Presently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since that period of that year.
The win also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.
His retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to create a final set.
The opponent rescued four early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
