Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a statement.
Officers state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Police then located numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials report early analysis suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have asked to the residents for tips.
An important official stated the attack left him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on social media, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
